Application

Metallic pigments create a pearl or iridescent effect when mixed with your epoxy resin. Different colours can be

colours can be combined to create a wide range of tones. The metallic pigments have high colouring properties, so that a small

small amount has a big effect. How much pigment you need depends on the desired effect.

As a rough starting point, you can use the estimates below, remembering that you can still add pigments after mixing, but no longer add them

Tips for using the metallic colour pigments

Mix for at least 2-3 minutes. To avoid curing imperfections, ensure

that the pigment does not exceed 3% by volume or 10% by weight of the epoxy mixture.

Check every 15-30 minutes during the curing process. If you notice that the pigments

are settling, stir carefully with a clean tool*. The tool used for stirring

should always be immersed in the epoxy resin to minimise the ingress of air bubbles. We advise

against stirring the epoxy resin when it is in a gel-like stage to avoid curling

(*Use denatured alcohol to clean the tools and allow them to dry before use)
