OSMO Hard Wax Oil Original 3032 Colourless Satin Matt
Product descriptionColourless wood finish that uniquely combines the advantages of natural oils and waxes in one product. Osmo Hartwachs-Öl Original is dirt-resistant, water-repellent, abrasion-resistant and produces a surface that is pleasant to the touch. Compared to conventional coating systems, the use of plant-based ingredients results in a more even colour and a more harmonious finish. Simple application - without primer and intermediate sanding - saves time and money. Open-pored, suitable for wood, does not crack, does not flake or peel. Resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water in accordance with DIN 68861-1A - no water stains. The dried coat is harmless to humans, animals and plants (resistant to saliva and perspiration according to DIN 53160, suitable for children's toys according to EN 71.3).Areas of applicationOsmo Hardwax-Oil Original is ideal for the protection of all wooden floors such as solid wood floorboards, country house floorboards, ship floors, OSB and cork floors as well as for furniture surfaces.IngredientsBased on natural vegetable oils (sunflower oil, soya oil, safflower oil) and waxes, paraffins, siccatives (drying agents) and water-repellent additives. Dearomatised white spirit (petrol-free). EU limit value for the product (Cat. 1.i): 500 g/l VOC (2010). This product contains max. 500 g/l VOC. We will be happy to send you a detailed full declaration on request.Physical propertiesSpecific weight: 0.88-0.95 g/cm³ Viscosity: 95-240 mPas Odour: faint/mild, odourless after drying Flash point: ≥ 60 °C according to DIN EN ISO 2719 pH value: not required Shelf life: 5 years and longer if kept in original sealed container. If thickened by frost, store at room temperature for 24 hours before use.PreparationThe wood surface must be clean, dry and frost-free (max. 18 % wood moisture). Osmo HartwachsÖl Original is ready to spread, do not dilute. Stir thoroughly. Thoroughly clean old open-pored coats. Old coats of paint and varnish must be completely removed. Always wear a dust mask when sanding. Fill small cracks, larger joints or holes in the wood (Osmo wood paste). Sand the wood surface carefully, starting with coarse sandpaper - final sanding for floors P120-150, furniture P180-240. Remove sanding dust by sweeping and vacuuming the surface before oiling. The coating result depends, among other things, on the condition of the wood. Therefore, a test coat should always be applied - especially on unknown substrates.ApplicationApply thinly in the direction of the wood grain with Osmo Surface Brush, Floor Brush, Oil-Paint Applicator Fleece (Hand Pad Holder) or Microfibre Roller and spread thoroughly. Allow to dry for 8-10 hours with good ventilation. After drying, apply the second coat thinly and quickly. When renovating an already oiled surface, one coat on the dirt-cleaned surface is usually sufficient.Cleaning the toolsWith Osmo Brush Cleaner (aromatic-free). Drying time: Allow to dry for approx. 8-10 hours in a standard climate (23 °C/50% relative humidity) with good ventilation. At lower temperatures and/or higher humidity, the drying time is significantly longer.CoverageThe coverage of the product is 24 m²/1 litre with 1 coat. It depends largely on the condition of the existing wood surface. All information refers to smooth and planed/sanded surfaces. Other surfaces may result in different coverage. Initial maintenance of industrially pre-oiled or finally oiled wooden floors: In the case of industrially pre-oiled wooden floors, it must always be clarified before initial maintenance whether the floor is pre-oiled or finally oiled. In the case of a pre-oiled floor, no initial maintenance is usually required, but a further thin application of oil. With a finished oiled floor, on the other hand, a sufficiently protective surface is applied from the factory. If you want to build up additional protection here, especially for intensively used areas, this is referred to as initial maintenance directly after the floor has been laid. For warranty reasons, we recommend following the care instructions and regulations of the manufacturer of your wooden floor. Alternatively, if you have decided to protect your wooden floor with a final coat of Osmo HartwachsÖl, please note the following points. Apply a test coat to a sample or remnant of the floor to be treated in accordance with the following application instructions: Final coat of a pre-oiled wooden floor: With pre-oiled wooden floors, the wood pore is usually still receptive for a thin application of Osmo Hartwachs-Öl with a floor brush or microfibre roller in the direction of the wood grain. This must be spread out thoroughly. Calculate with a consumption of approx. 20-25 g/m². Initial care of a finished oiled wooden floor: Finished oiled wooden floors do not usually require any additional surface protection under normal expected loads. Nevertheless, it may be advisable to carry out initial maintenance to extend the regular maintenance intervals in areas with a high expected load. As the wood pores of industrially finished oiled wooden floors are generally hardly receptive to an additional coat of Osmo Hartwachs-Öl, care must be taken here to apply a very thin coat. Applied Hardwax-Oil must be levelled with a single-disc polishing machine or the Osmo pad holder with joint - in each case in conjunction with a white pad. Any excess must be removed with a lint-free cotton cloth. Calculate with a consumption of approx. 5-6 g/m². After the additional care application has dried, it must not be possible to simply scrape the hard wax oil off the surface with a fingernail or other blunt object.NotesOils intensify the natural colour of the wood (permanent wet effect). Too thick an application and insufficient ventilation will delay drying. We recommend the use of Osmo Klarwachs for dark and richly coloured hardwoods (e.g. wenge, merbau, jatoba, etc.). Test coat recommended. Due to the high absorbency of cork surfaces, a particularly thin coat should be applied. A longer drying time is to be expected on cork (at least 24 hours). Caution: Apply a maximum of one thin coat with a cloth inside cupboards and drawers. For floors that have already been treated in the factory, please always read the product information before applying Osmo Hartwachs-Öl Original. Wood surfaces treated with Osmo Hartwachs-Öl Original are easy to maintain. Remove coarse dirt with a broom or hoover. To clean, add Osmo Wisch-Fix to the wiping water and clean the surface with a damp (not wet!) mop. For refreshing and intensive cleaning, use Osmo Wax Care and Cleaning Agent as required. If a higher gloss level is desired, apply a thin layer of Osmo Wax Care and Cleaning Agent after thorough drying and polish after drying.Safety instructionsKeep out of the reach of children.
