Henkel TECHNOMELT DORUS KS 351 – Unfilled EVA hot-melt adhesive for perfect, invisible edge joints Henkel TECHNOMELT ® DORUS KS 351 is a high-quality, unfilled hot-melt adhesive based on state-of-the-art EVA technology, specially developed for professional edge-banding processes. Thanks to its unfilled composition, this medium-viscosity hot melt adhesive guarantees a virtually invisible, tight joint and is ideal for achieving high-quality visual results in furniture and interior design. Supplied in a convenient granule form and available in either transparent or white, it perfectly matches the colour of your board and edge material. Maximum yield and outstanding performance Thanks to its unfilled formulation, TECHNOMELT DORUS KS 351 offers an extremely high yield and ensures an excellent, smooth surface even with highly flexible edging materials. The adhesive is characterised by very good thermal stability and particularly high heat resistance. It ensures optimal wetting of the materials and guarantees a permanently high final bond strength. This makes it a universally applicable standard for modern joinery workshops and industrial enterprises. Key features at a glance Unfilled quality Offers maximum yield and a tight, visually barely perceptible zero joint. High heat resistance Very high heat resistance and excellent thermal stability in the melting pot. Universal application Processes almost all edging materials at feed speeds of 10 m/min or higher. Main areas of application & edging materials Straight edge banding : Optimally designed for edge banding machines with feed speeds of approx. 10 m/min or higher. Softforming process : Excellent results even with complex, difficult-to-bond profile shapes. CNC machining centres : Ideally suited for use on modern machining centres (MCC). Wide material compatibility : Reliable adhesion to solid wood, veneer, melamine, polyester, HPL, PVC, ABS and PP (suitability of plastics depends on the specific application, material properties and priming). Application instructions & technical data Recommended temperature in the melting tank : 180 °C to 200 °C Recommended temperature at the application roller : 190 °C to 200 °C Viscosity (at 200 °C): ~53,000 mPa·s (medium viscosity) Softening point (ring & ball): ~110 °C Heat resistance : ~90 °C (tested according to Henkel test method with 0.6 mm oak veneer in a rising heat test) Expert tip for a stable bonding process To minimise deposits caused by adhesive residues in the system and to guarantee consistently high surface quality, we recommend regularly cleaning the application units and melt tanks with TECHNOMELT ® CLEANER EASYFLOW. This ensures a clean bonding process and noticeably extends the maintenance intervals of your edge banding machine. Also ensure that there is always adequate extraction in the work area to reliably remove the vapours and odours generated during hot processing.
