Practical tip on colour selection If you wish to achieve as raw and light a wood look as possible, Natural or White 5% are often the better choice for light woods. Although Pure contains no pigment, it can slightly warm or darken the wood due to the natural hue of the linseed oil. It is always best to test on the original wood. Container sizes & coverage To ensure you don’t order too little or too much, here is a practical guide to standard container sizes : Containers Approx. coverage Recommended for 390 ml approx. 15 m² small furniture, table tops, stair treads, small batches, Test projects 1.3 litres approx. 52 m² several pieces of furniture, larger tables, kitchens, small to medium-sized floor areas 3.5 litres approx. 140 m² larger floor areas, extensive interior finishing projects, workshops and commercial premises Note: Actual coverage depends on the type of wood, sanding, absorbency and working method. Consumption may be higher on highly absorbent woods. Application at a glance Prepare the surface : Sand the wood clean and remove all dust thoroughly. For furniture, stairs and worktops, a final sanding of 100–150 grit is standard; for floors, 100 grit. Mix components A + B : Mix in a ratio of 3 : 1 before application and stir thoroughly for 1–2 minutes. Apply thinly : Apply the oil evenly, allow to react briefly and remove any excess completely. Allow to dry : The surface is dry after approx. 12–24 hours, can be cleaned when dry after 2 days and maintained with water and suitable cleaners after 5 days. Important notes Use only on untreated wood. Old coatings must be completely removed. The mixed solution is only workable for around 4–6 hours. For full performance, component B should always be used. Oil-soaked cloths must be placed in water after use, as there is a risk of spontaneous combustion. Hesse Lignal INVIPRO-OIL OE 52860 is a cobalt- and butanone oxime-free mixture of natural oils, natural waxes, combined with natural oil-refined alkyd resins. This quick-drying and aromatic-free oil contains light stabilisers and protects against colour changes for much longer than comparable oils. It penetrates the wood very well and thus maintains the open porosity and breathability of the wood surface. The surface remains antistatic and looks as if it had not been treated. However, it is abrasion-resistant and water-repellent, and therefore not only better protected, but also more durable than a raw wood surface. This also makes the surface easier to clean and real wood surfaces retain their individual and exclusive character for longer.
