Coloured wipe stain for striking wood structures Hesse PORECOLOR TPC 800 is a water-dilutable HYDRO wipe stain for the targeted colour accentuation of open-pored and structured woods. The product clearly emphasises the natural wood structure and gives surfaces an individual, distinctive look. Especially after intensive brushing of the pores, a striking depth effect with clearly defined structures is created. The stain is suitable for industrial and craft applications in furniture construction, doors, interior design, as well as for parquet and ship interior design projects. It can be overcoated with suitable water-based or solvent-based Hesse coating systems, thus enabling high-quality, durable final surfaces. Processing with maximum effect PORECOLOR is applied to suitably primed surfaces. The substrate must be dry and free of dust and grease. It can be applied using a spray gun, brush or roller. After a drying time of approx. 2 hours at 20 °C, the excess stain is removed with steel wool so that the material remains specifically in the pores. This creates the characteristic, high-contrast pore pattern. For optimum results, we recommend priming with heavily diluted HYDRO or HYDRO-PUR lacquers to sufficiently wet the pores. Overcoating is essential and can be carried out with suitable Hesse topcoats or finishing varnishes. Technical data The flow time is approx. 60 seconds (ISO 3). The recommended application quantity is between 30–60 g/m², with a maximum total application quantity of 60 g/m². The VOC classification is A+, the VOC EU value is 0–0.28%. The shelf life is approx. 26 weeks at 10–30 °C. PORECOLOR is available as a ready-to-use colour or as a base TPZ 800 for individual colouring with up to 10% standard pigments BP 30xx. Hesse MEGA-PUR Primer DG 4717-0005
2K PUR primer for high-quality, lightfast paint finishes Hesse MEGA-PUR Grund DG 4717-0005 is a high-build, highly transparent, acrylate-based 2K PUR primer for closed-pore and lightfast paint finishes. The product is specially formulated for Hesse PUR coating, overcoat and high-gloss lacquers and enables high-quality surfaces from matt to high-gloss. Thanks to its excellent transparency, DG 4717-0005 is suitable for both light and dark hardwoods and softwoods, as well as exotic and bleached wood types. The primer can also be used on MDF, especially for edge insulation in damp rooms. This makes it a versatile solution for demanding applications in furniture construction, interior design, shopfitting and ship interiors. Processing and structure The mixing ratio is 5 : 1 (by volume) with PUR hardener DR 4070. Curing with DR 4071 is also possible as an option. The pot life is approx. 3 hours at 20 °C. Drying takes approx. 6 hours, and the surface can be stacked after approx. 16 hours. Complete curing is achieved after approx. 7 days. Depending on the structure, up to four coats can be applied. The recommended application quantity is 100–150 g/m² per coat, with a maximum total application quantity of 600 g/m². The coverage is approx. 6–10 m² per litre, depending on the application method. The VOC value is 61.98%, VOC EU is 38.2%, with an A+ rating according to French VOC assessment. For best results, apply at 20–25 °C and a relative humidity of 50–65%. Special properties DG 4717-0005 can also be used as a flame-retardant coating for seagoing vessels in accordance with SOLAS requirements (in combination with approved system components). The maximum wet application quantity in this case is 120 g/m². For bleached wood types or artificial veneers, the addition of a suitable thinner is recommended for the first coat. Before applying any further coats, intermediate sanding with 320–400 grit is required to ensure optimum adhesion and surface quality.
