DetailsThe patented 3M Xtract™ multihole perforation ensures excellent dust extraction, which prevents clogging, increases productivity and provides a cleaner working environmentThe one-piece threaded shaft ensures greater balance and less vibrationFlat, firm density foam with a blunt 35-degree tapered edge provides durability and aggressive stock removalThe 3M™ Hookit™ fastening system enables easy disc changes and optimises service lifeThe 3M Xtract™ backing pads with slim design are strong but flexible and versatile enough to be used for surface grinding. They are designed to hold a 3M Xtract disc securely on a random orbital sander (sold separately). Part of the 3M Xtract range designed to optimise dust extraction. The backing pads allow an extraction unit to suck dust from a workpiece to improve tool life and productivity. Use this backing pad with coarse grits when good levelling is required. For aggressive surface sanding Our 3M Xtract™ backing pads with a slim design are made from firm density foam and feature a blunt 35-degree tapered edge for added durability. They are ideal for aggressive surface grinding. The science of dust management Our patented multihole perforation, together with an extraction system, ensures that dust is removed from the disc, the workpiece and the air. When dust cannot clog the cutting edge of the abrasives, sanding paper discs provide stronger and faster stock removal. The 3M Xtract discs are designed for optimal dust extraction, so reducing the amount of dust is now easier than ever. Use this disc together with a 3M Xtract backing pad and a random orbital sander with dust extraction (both sold separately) to ensure optimal dust extraction. The patented multi-hole perforation on our 3M Xtract products removes dust faster than products with five or six holes. This hole design does not even need to be aligned with the holes of the backing pad (which attaches to the random orbital sander and is sold separately). This allows for quick and easy disc changes. The 3M™ Hookit™ quick-change system features a hook-and-loop attachment that makes disc changes quick and easy. All this ensures higher productivity and lower material consumption. By reducing the amount of dust, the removal efficiency and service life of the disc is significantly increased. This ultimately reduces operating costs. Focus on your task thanks to the 3M™ Hookit™ quick change system Whether your task requires an orbital or rotary sander, polisher, grinder, drill, finish sander or other power tool, 3M Hookit products allow you to focus on your task rather than the tool. The 3M Hookit abrasives are made with a hook and loop backing material that adheres to the backing pad (sold separately) by allowing small hooks to firmly grip the loops. Attachment during use is simple, quick and secure. The sanding, finishing and surface treatment products with the 3M Hookit quick-change system allow you to work efficiently in multi-step finishing processes and can be used again and again over the service life of the abrasive.
